Location:

Leicester. Shift: Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:30 | Friday 07:30-12:30. Pay Rate: £12.32 per hour.

A specialist casting manufacturer based in Leicester. They have been operating for over 50 years and serve a broad range of industries globally.

We're looking for a reliable and safety‑conscious Machine Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing team, working in a foundry environment. You'll play a key role in supporting production through the safe operation of foundry and cut‑off equipment in the manufacture of precision castings. This is a hands‑on, physical position where quality, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.

• Weigh and record charge materials accurately
• Safely load furnaces using approved handling equipment
• Inspect furnace linings and crucibles before charging
• Pre‑heat moulds prior to pouring
• Monitor furnace temperatures within specified limits

• Prepare parts, securing them in fixtures
• Identify correct cutting points and safely operate saws or cut‑off wheels
• Remove parts from trees and segregate scrap for re‑melting
• Maintain safe working practices with correct guarding and secure grip

• Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment desirable (training provided)
• Ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures
• Comfortable working with heat, noise, and dust in a physical role
• Reliable, safety‑focused, and a strong team player
• High attention to detail with a commitment to quality
