A client within the Public Sector, based in the Leicerstershire, is currently recruiting for a Asset Surveyor to join their Strategic Property Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority and a commercial asset management environment.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to support the proactive management of a significant and diverse property portfolio, ensuring assets are optimised to deliver best value, support service delivery, and achieve strategic and commercial objectives in line with statutory requirements.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a varied commercial portfolio and provide high-level professional advice on asset management, investment, valuation, and disposals.
Key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
• Developing and delivering asset management and investment strategies, including identifying surplus or underperforming assets
• Undertaking financial and commercial appraisals to support lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals, refurbishments, and disposals
• Leading commercial negotiations with tenants, developers, partners, and key stakeholders to achieve best consideration
• Managing landlord and tenant matters across a mixed commercial portfolio
• Commissioning, instructing, and monitoring external agents and legal advisers
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require the following essential qualifications:
• Degree (or equivalent) in Real Estate, Property, or a related discipline
• Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS)
• Significant post-qualification experience in commercial asset management
The below skills and experience would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong experience in landlord and tenant matters, including negotiations and valuations
• Proven background in investment property, development appraisals, and market analysis
• Experience working within a local authority or public sector property environment
• Sound understanding of statutory compliance, governance, and risk management
• Experience using asset management systems, GIS, CAD, or similar property software
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering: £400 per day Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35) (Approx. £300 per day PAYE)
