Salary: £39,906 – £43,482 (annual)

You will work on a multi‑disciplinary research project funded by the EPSRC and a consortium of industrial partners. The focus is on developing predictive models for the drug release profile of immediate‑release tablets and on setting up experimental systems for data collection and analysis. The role includes multiscale model development, spanning from micro to macro scales, to predict tablet dissolution in various gastrointestinal environments.

• Develop and refine computational models (including particle technology, pharmaceutical engineering, numerical analysis).
• Collect, analyse and interpret imaging and experimental data.
• Collaborate with consortium partners on system design and data integration.
• Publish findings and present at conferences.

• Experience in tablet design, imaging data collection and analysis, numerical modelling.
• Proficiency with software packages such as BIOVIA Materials Studio, ANSYS CFD and MATLAB.
• Strong background in predictive modelling of particulate systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Fixed‑term contract: 19 months
Salary band: bottom of the range
