Main duties and responsibilities

De Montfort University is recruiting an experienced researcher for the Textile Engineering and Materials (TEAM) Research Group at the School of Design Innovation. TEAM focuses on innovative technologies and environmentally friendly textile processes for sustainable materials. The ideal candidate will work on an EPSRC-funded project developing innovative PFAS-free amphiphobic coatings on textiles for self-cleaning and contamination prevention. This is a 2-year fixed-term contract.

Qualifications and expectations

The ideal candidate will have experience undertaking postgraduate-level research in Textile Technology, Chemistry, Materials, Polymer Sciences, or related subjects. A PhD in a relevant area is desirable. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of textile materials, polymer coating and evaluation methods; knowledge of textile functional finishing or nanotechnology for surface coating is desirable. Excellent report-writing and presentation skills are essential. The work is part of a collaborative project;

ability to work with others and share tasks is essential.
