Section Engineer – Jackson Civil Engineering

Join our dynamic, innovative team to strengthen our Eastern region. This role focuses on large infrastructure schemes in East Anglia, initially on road projects in Leiston.

Role Purpose

The main purpose of the role is to progress the construction process and assist in delivering the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with site management to complete quality take offs.
  • Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities / issues with the project.
  • Complete hazard / risk assessments and method statements, alerting relevant personnel to control measures.
  • Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
  • Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers.
  • Manage sectional setting out requirements on site.
  • Manage sectional service plans / drawings and issue permits accordingly.
  • Assist the QS / Project Manager with providing relevant information for records and claims purposes.
  • Manage the as built requirements of your section and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file.
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the company procedures.
Qualifications & Experience

• Good and extensive setting out experience working on infrastructure projects including highways, roads and earthworks.

• Experience working with Leica/Geomax equipment and transferring information from AutoCAD to surveying equipment.

• Good understanding of ITPs and quality assurance processes.

• Leadership skills and understanding of construction practices.

• Full UK driving licence (essential) and willingness to travel throughout our Eastern Region.

• First Aid at Work qualification (desirable).
