Location: Leiston (Sizewell
C) with mobility to Bridgwater. The role requires training in Bridgwater for 3 years before returning to Sizewell C fully trained.
Salary: £68,000-£78,000 for experienced candidates (5 years+), circa £50,000 for graduate level candidates. Includes bonus and benefits including contributory pension scheme up to 7.5% employee / up to 15% Sizewell, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and a flexible benefits allowance on our benefits portal (electric car schemes, private medical cover, critical illness cover, discounted gym memberships, etc.).

About Sizewell CSizewell C is a new nuclear power station being built in Suffolk, featuring two European Pressurised Water Reactor (EPR) units. This once‑in‑a‑generation project will power millions of homes with low‑carbon energy and play a vital role in the UK’s net zero future.

You’ll start with an intensive training and familiarisation programme at Hinkley Point C (HPC) for up to three years, including secondment into the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA). After this, you’ll return to Sizewell C to lead training for our future operators.
Key Responsibilities- Complete initial training on PWR technology, EPR systems, and operational fundamentals.
- Develop and deliver classroom and simulator‑based training programmes.
- Prepare and validate training materials for SZC based on HPC replication.
- Support operator assessment and authorisation.
- Maintain and improve training processes and standards.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to maintain situational awareness and work under pressure.
- Minimum qualification:
HNC in a technical discipline (or equivalent). - Experience in nuclear operations, including graduates with a relevant science or engineering degree, or similar technical roles (e.g., operational control engineers, technical instructors from power generation or grid operations).
- Experience operating a nuclear power plant or Pressurised Water Reactor.
- Previous technical training delivery experience.
- Knowledge of Systematic Approach to Training and Nuclear Operator Fundamentals.
