Materials Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Materials Engineer to join our Ground Engineering team working on the Sizewell C project in Suffolk
. The project will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years.

• Support the management and delivery of materials engineering services within GSA Alliance.
• Establish and maintain safe methods of work.
• Conduct testing samples, coordination of changes, and compliance visits.
• Maintain high standards of documentation, communication, and regulatory compliance.

• Focus on Zero Harm across the GSA site.
• Support delivery of Sustainability activities.
• Plan and undertake inspection and testing on site and in the laboratory.
• Maintain UKAS accreditation standards and site quality system compliance.
• Deliver results by deadlines.
• Maintain equipment calibrations and manage lab defects.
• Identify and record best practice.
• Produce compliance reports and undertake site QMS audits.
• Dispatch samples to external test laboratories and review reports.
• Allocate testing resources daily.

• Experience auditing, training/development of junior staff and KPI reporting.
• Key focus on health & safety in lab, risk assessments, method statements.
• NVQ level 3 or equivalent; budget operation.
• Materials technical knowledge; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.

• Previous UKAS accredited laboratory experience with construction materials.
• Passion for work, willingness to exceed expectations, quick learner, adaptable.
