Recreation Therapist required for seniors' living facility.

Green Acres Foundation is seeking a team-oriented multi-tasker who is flexible, enthusiastic, has great leadership skills, and a positive attitude to help as a Recreation Therapist at our facility in Coaldale, Alberta.

Basic Responsibilities of the position include:

• Co-ordinating, planning, and implementing programs and recreation-based treatment activities for SL4/SL4D senior residents based on their needs.
• Leading, motivating, and assuming responsibility for residents in a variety of individual and group therapy programs, both in the facility and in the community.
• Leadership skills will also be required as you provide guidance and supervision to the Activity Coordinator (when applicable).
• Consulting with the Manager in the selection of activities most appropriate to meet the residents' needs and abilities, based on individual care plans.
• Recruiting, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating volunteers in assigned programs.

Requirements for the position:

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering data.
• Diploma or degree in Therapeutic Recreation
• Minimum 2 years' experience in related recreational field preferred.
• Current and on-going satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
• Valid Class 4 driver's license.
• Current satisfactory driver's abstract
• Current claims experience letter
• Emergency First Aid
