General Labourer; Coating Operator

Job Summary

Coating Operators
, in Nisku, Alberta
, will be responsible for the internal coating of used tubulars and related goods. Work is physical in nature and includes tasks such as: cleaning, blasting, and coating pipe, operating an overhead crane and related equipment.

• Pipe handling
• Thread spray application
• Mixing/adding coating to system
• Overhead crane operation
• Equipment operation/set-up/adjustment
• Follow basic safety rules
• Report any accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards in the workplace
• Housekeeping
• Accountable to immediate supervisor to complete assigned job tasks in a safe manner
• Accountable for the safety of themselves and fellow co-workers
• Accountable for ensuring trainees are complying with Safe Work requirements
• Authority to correct improper work habits of trainees
• Authority to stop assigned work activities if unsafe conditions exist

• High school education with the ability to read, write and speak a minimum amount of English to perform job duties
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service
• Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred

• Work is performed in a shop environment. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and changes of temperature/humidity.
• Physical requirements:
  
  squatting, bending, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 23 kilograms, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment.
• Required to at all times wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform duties in a safe manner.
