The Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Lethbridge invites applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in the natural sciences, in the area of Climate and Global Change. The successful candidate could be appointed in the Department of Geography and Environment, or the Department of Biological Sciences, or both.The CRC Program has a in accordance with the . We are seeking an exceptional scholar who can strengthen our research capacity in the fields of geography, environmental science, and/or biological sciences. Potential areas of studies should complement existing research strengths at the University of Lethbridge.
Applications are invited from individuals with research interests in climate change and global change, broadly defined. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the following examples. (i) Empirical or theoretical studies of the causes and/or consequences of climate change in natural or human-dominated environments. (ii) Studies of the response of organisms or ecosystems to any global change phenomenon, including climate change, altered biogeochemical cycles or reductions in biodiversity.
The successful candidate must also have the interest and expertise to teach science courses (existing or newly developed) within the curriculum offered by the Department of Biological Sciences (BIOL), Department of Geography & Environment (GEOG), or the Environmental Science program (ENVS) (.

Qualifications Tier 2 Chairs are intended for exceptional emerging scholars. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent), be within 10 years of receiving their highest degree, and be an exceptional emerging researcher, acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to lead in their field.
