About the Senior Audit Manager RoleThis role will see you take ownership of a varied and interesting client portfolio across multiple sectors, including complex and high-profile assignments. Reporting directly to a Partner, you will play a key role in managing and developing the audit department, supporting growth and delivering a first‑class service to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the full audit process from planning through to completion
- Ensuring jobs are delivered on time and within budget
- Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the audit team
- Supporting Partners with departmental strategy and development
- Managing and reviewing audit engagements and accounts preparation under UK GAAP
- Preparing budgets and managing workflow efficiently
- Building strong relationships with clients and identifying cross‑selling opportunities
- Assisting in business development and preparation of proposals
- Keeping up to date with legislative, technical, and regulatory changes and sharing insights with the team
- ACA / ACCA qualified
- Substantial recent experience in an audit‑focused role
- Strong technical knowledge of audit and accounting standards
- Proven experience managing or being ready to manage your own portfolio
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff
- Familiarity with systems such as Sage, Xero, CCH, and Caseware (advantageous)
- Excellent communication, organisation, and client engagement skills
- Ability to travel to client sites as required
- Proactive approach with a strong commercial awareness and professional work ethic.

- Hours:
Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week - Hybrid working:
Flexible working available after successful completion of probation - Holidays: 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)
