Sunesis Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our growing team in Lexington, Kentucky. This position plays a key role in preparing competitive bids for site development, utility, roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects throughout the region.
Responsibilities:- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost estimates
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Prepare bid proposals and support bid submissions
- Collaborate with project management and operations teams on project strategy
- Analyze project risks, opportunities, and production costs
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
- Experience with earthwork, utilities, roadwork, site development, or bridge projects
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and cost analysis
- Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid (highly )
- Experience estimating DOT, municipal, or public infrastructure projects
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

Initial training will take place at our headquarters in West Chester, OH
. You will work directly with our estimating team to learn Sunesis’ estimating systems, software, workflows, and processes, helping you build the knowledge and confidence needed to transition successfully into the Lexington role.
