We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established regional main contractor operating across South Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. Due to continued workload and a strong forward order book, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to strengthen their commercial and pre-construction team.

The Role

As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of general build projects, working from first principles and managing subcontractor enquiries.

This role would suit an Estimator currently working for a general builder or main contractor, looking for a stable, long-term opportunity within a regional business.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing detailed cost estimates from first principles

* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

* Issuing and managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries

* Evaluating returns and building competitive tender submissions

* Working closely with commercial and construction teams

* Supporting pre-construction meetings as required

Experience & Requirements

* Proven experience as an Estimator within a general build or main contractor environment

* Ability to price projects independently from first principles

* Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and packaging

* Experience working on projects up to £5m

* Intermediate to senior-level experience preferred

* No requirement for specific estimating software
