An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as aPharmacy Technician in Lincolnshire to support GP practices within the PCN. This position is flexible in considering part or full time working and will be based between Woodhall Spa New Surgery and New Coningsby Surgery. Weare looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician with aminimum of 2 years experience to join our existing PCN pharmacists team.
The successful pharmacy technician candidate will play an important role in complementing our clinical pharmacists and other members of the PCNmulti-disciplinary team.
The post holder will work within their clinical competencies as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide expertise in clinical medicines management, provide face to face structured medication reviews, manage long term conditions, management of medicines on transfer of care and systems for safer prescribing, manage repeat prescription authorisations and reauthorisation, acute prescription request, while addressing both the public health and social care needs of patients in the GP practice(s) that make up the PCN.
The post holder will perform face to face medication review of patients, especially for older people, people in residential care homes and those with multiple co-morbidities. The post holder will provide support on quality improvement and clinical audit and well as managing some aspects of the Quality and Outcomes Framework.

This is an exciting new role within the PCN and will support the practice based Clinical Pharmacists and the wider PCN work programme including Enhanced Health in Care Homes.
Job responsibilitiesThey will embed into a team of GP's, pharmacists,technicians, practice nurses, occupational therapists, social prescribers and physiotherapists.
They will work with supportive colleagues in the network pharmacist team to promote high-quality prescribing and optimise the management of long-term conditions.
Main duties of the job
This is an evolving job role with huge scope for development as we expand our PCN team further over the years.
The post holder will:
The post holder will support the PCNclinical pharmacists with the Network DES programme.
Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff to resolve medicines-related queries
Monitor practice prescribing and adherence to local and national prescribing policies
Improve service and quality through mechanisms such as audit
The post will also work with patient sand their carers to get the best from their medicines, improving repeat prescribing processes in General Practice, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted medicines.

Person Specification Qualifications- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Educated to GCSE level
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Skills
- Highly specialised clinical technical services and advice concerning care, including reviewing prescriptions, providing specialised advice on doses, possible side effects of drugs, undertakes risk management and ensures compliance with medicines legislation
