The City of Lincoln Council have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Caretaker to join our team.

You will work as a mobile caretaker to make sure the Council’s estate housing and environments are maintained to a high standard. This includes inspections of communal areas in low rise blocks and communal land for safety, cleanliness and to make sure lighting, water pumps, lifts and door entries are working.

You will be part of the wider Tenancy Services team, who are responsible for the management of 7,800 properties throughout Lincoln. We pride ourselves on providing quality housing for our tenants.

An ideal job for someone who likes to be mobile and drive or move around different sites carrying out a range of caretaking activities both inside and outside.

As a point of contact for tenants we are looking for a motivated, organised, and friendly candidate to provide excellent customer care to the residents of Lincoln.

Please note this role is subject to a standard DBS check. A full clean driving licence is also required.

Key responsibilities
  • Work as a Mobile Caretaker according to rostered requirements.
  • Work under the general direction of the Area Housing Manager in ensuring that the council’s estates environment is maintained to a high standard.
  • Provide advice to the Area Housing Manager in relation to monitoring the quality of the appointed contractor in respect of the council’s garden service.
  • To support the designated Responsible Officer for the day‑to‑day safety and management of designated operational properties and / or land.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people and organisations.
  • Ability to handle conflict and adopt a firm but fair approach.
  • A minimum of two GCSE’S or equivalent qualification (including English).
  • Previous Cleaning experience.
  • Understanding of health and safety Issues (including manual handling).
