Branston is one of the UK's leading fresh produce suppliers, and we're looking for a Site Technical Manager to join our senior management team s is a high-impact role, responsible for all technical, quality, and food safety functions on site. You’ll lead the site technical strategy, manage compliance and risk, and build strong teams that deliver excellence every day.
Responsibilities- Lead the site QA team (intake, raw materials, and factory) and manage all related QA processes.
- Oversee the Hygiene teams day-to-day activity in collaboration with the Group Hygiene Manager.
- Build, coach, and develop strong teams with clear objectives, succession plans, and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Play an active role in the site senior management team, contributing to both quality and operational strategy.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration, ensuring food safety and quality standards are embedded across the site.
- Own and develop the site Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with BRCGS, Red Tractor, retailer, and industry standards.
- Lead third-party audits and support customer visits.
- Manage site HACCP and TACCP plans (with the Technical Services Manager), ensuring product safety and integrity.
- Partner with operations to balance commercial objectives with technical and food safety requirements.
- Oversee incident management, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Monitor, report, and drive improvement against internal and customer KPIs.
- Lead Quality Improvement Plans at site level.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and group technical teams.
- Share best practices across the wider Branston business to deliver consistency and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in a senior food safety/technical management role within Fresh Produce and/or Food Manufacturing.
- HACCP and Food Safety qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes of practice, third-party, and retailer standards.
- Operational understanding with commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or a related discipline (desirable, not essential).
- 4.5 working week, finishing at 12:30pm on a Friday
