SchedulingRequirements
- Full‑Time Position available: 37.5‑40 hours of work per week
- Available Monday‑Friday; flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred
- Commit to a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule for the foreseeable future
- Available and willing to see multiple clients throughout the day
- Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans
- Provide companionship and light housekeeping to help a person stay at home
- Prepare meals in accordance with the client and/or the family's requests; open to preparing different kinds of cuisine
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with ADLs within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker
- Assist clients in all activities of daily living, hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and so forth
- Assist clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises
- Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
- Work within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practice safely and competently within the job description
- Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
- MUST have a valid driver’s license and reliable access to a car that can be used for daily work
- Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas of work; an asset if you can travel to rural/remote areas
- MUST be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- PSW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution or International nursing/doctorate certification
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Valid WHMIS
2015 Certificate of Completion - COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario’s Human Rights Code
- Immunization for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and Diphtheria REQUIRED; immunization of Hepatitis B is strongly urged
- Valid Criminal Record Check completed within the last year
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed
- Requires good judgement, the ability to work independently, and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team
- Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) Registration an asset
