Maintenance Engineer
Company: Creative Composites
OverviewCreative Composites designs and manufactures world‑leading composite components for major OEMs across automotive, medical, transport and construction sectors. Our state‑of‑the‑art plant features the largest compression moulding presses in the UK, robotic cells, 5‑axis CNC machines, conveyorised paint lines and advanced assembly fixtures.
Responsibilities- Managing mechanical, electrical repairs and breakdowns whilst avoiding downtime to maintain manufacturing efficiency.
- Working on single and 3‑phase electrical systems, inverters, drives, relays, PLCs, motors and robots.
- Interpreting electrical drawings to aid fault finding.
- Proactive planning and reactive maintenance across an automated plant.
- Project work to improve machine availability and reduce downtime.
- Identifying problems on machinery/equipment and carrying out effective repairs.
- Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Liaising with external service engineers and contractors as required.
- Trained Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with industry experience.
- Experience in fabrication, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Good diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working with PLCs is highly desirable.
- Previous proven electrical maintenance experience.
- Excellent time‑keeping record.
- Ability to work towards set targets.
- Help create and improve designs and manufacturing documents.
- Develop new skills and take on safety‑related duties.
- Build knowledge of controls and instrumentation.
- Contribute ideas and implement innovative methods to improve maintenance of advanced manufacturing equipment.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and three shift‑based patterns.
Shift
Schedule:
Week 1 & 3 – Mon Thu and Fri 05:30–12:00;
Week 3 – 12:00–18:30;
Week 5 – Sun to Wed 23:00–05:30 (Thursday night – 05:30 Friday).
