General Services Assistant - Liskeard Hospital

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Community Hospital team and work with an exceptional team of General Service staff. This busy and physical role will include a wide range of tasks from general and infection control cleaning of the whole site and kitchen duties. We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated and dedicated to providing the very best environment for our patients.

Flexibility is required as the successful post holder will work in different areas of the hospital.

Eligibility

Currently only open to people who already work for the following NHS organisations:

• Cornwall Foundation Trust
• Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
• Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board

Applicants who do not currently work for one of these organisations will not be considered.

Main Duties

• General and infection control cleaning of the entire hospital site.
• Kitchen duties (preparation and serving of meals to various clients).
• Perform cleaning tasks to a high standard in multiple hospital areas.
• Adapt to work in different areas and shift patterns.

Person Specification

Essential

• Good basic level of ability in Maths and English.
• Experience of preparing and serving meals for clients with varying dietary requirements.
• NVQ Level 2 equivalent qualification/experience.
• Basic IT skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and use equipment provided.
• Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and COSHH.
• Ability to undertake mandatory training.
• Basic keyboard skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload with supervision.
• Ability to demonstrate practice skills to others.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Desirable

• Experience of working in a care setting.
