Client Side – Senior Quantity Surveyor

Due to ongoing expansion, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Client-side Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Head Office.

Working as part of our development team, and reporting directly to the Development Director, you will be responsible for running an number of development projects from inception to completion. The projects are predominantly within Purpose Built Student Accommodation and Co-Living developments, as well as a number of commercial development projects.

• Providing initial cost advice to aid the assessment of potential PBSA/residential opportunities.
• Managing the project cost plan from inception, through contract award, to practical completion.
• Ensuring risks have been considered/managed and costs are accurate to inform the funding request.
• Being commercially responsible for on-site schemes, including cost reporting, value engineering, cashflows, dispute resolution, cost control and account management.
• Knowledge of Contraction Contracts especially JCT D&B contracts.
• Negotiating and overseeing construction contracts, retentions, bonds, warranties and other contractual documents.
• Agreeing final account inline with the Board approved level.

• Preferably MRICS Qualified with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience working with in the living sector is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to travel throughout the UK with a full driving licence.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and with in a team.
• Demonstrable strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills, with a willingness to participate and present in meetings at various levels.
