• MB ChB (or equivalent)
• Current GMC registration without restrictions
• FRCA or equivalent

• Have completed completed stage 1 (CT1-3) in a relevant training programme
• Experience of working in the NHS
• ALS certified
• Experience of Neuroanaesthesia & Neurocritical care
• Smooth progression through training consistent with personal circumstances

• Able to provide evidence of completion of the Royal College of Anaesthetists initial assessment of competency for SHOs/ST1 or to compete those competencies within two weeks of taking up the post
• able to recognise when senior assistance is needed
• Uses evidence-based techniques
• Manually dexterous

• Demonstrate up to date clinical knowledge of anaesthesia and critical care
• Demonstrate particular knowledge relevant to neurosurgery and neurology
• Commitment to ongoing medical education
• Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and awareness of other specialities

• Ability to organise oneself and others in a multi-disciplinary team
