Head of Management Accounts, 12 month FTC - Leading Regulator - Liverpool/Newport with hybrid working

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Management Accounts to join a leading regulator.

Reporting into the Assistant Director of Finance you will be responsible for running the Management Accounts team and for ensuring that all advice given to the Assistant Director and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) is technically sound, compliant and helps to inform strategic decision making. Your key accountabilities will include:

• Working to increase financial capability
• Supporting the development of realistic budgets for Directorates
• Building and maintaining relationships with senior budget holders to agree forecasts
• Ensuring that financial reports to senior management highlight key insights
• Working closely with the Head of Financial Accounts and Systems to ensure consistency in the presentation of management and financial accounts
• Leading the development of management accounts reports and systems

You should have a track record of working in a finance team and have relevant Finance Business Partnering or Management Accounting experience. Strong technical budgeting and accounting skills need to be combined with good research, analytical and judgement skills. You need to be qualified through CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or ICAEW.
