The Opportunity

We’re supporting a growing specialist lender in their search for an experienced Bridging Finance Underwriter. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing underwriting team where you’ll take ownership of cases from initial application through to completion, playing a key role in delivering fast and commercial lending decisions.

What You’ll Do

As Underwriter, you’ll manage a diverse caseload, applying sound judgement and analytical thinking to deliver high-quality underwriting decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing the full lending process from application to drawdown

* Assessing bridging loan applications and analysing creditworthiness

* Preparing detailed credit proposals for Credit Committee

* Reviewing valuation reports and due diligence documentation

* Drafting offer documents and ensuring conditions are satisfied pre-completion

* Liaising with brokers, solicitors, valuers, surveyors and internal teams to progress cases

* Maintaining accurate CRM records and producing reports when required

* Managing expectations professionally and providing updates to all stakeholders

* Supporting continuous improvement across underwriting processes

What You’ll Bring

* Proven underwriting experience within bridging or specialist lending

* Strong understanding of property-based lending, B2B underwriting and risk assessment

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

* Ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

* Analytical mindset with the confidence to make informed decisions

* A proactive, problem-solving mentality and a commitment to great customer outcomes

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Nice to Have

* Experience in financial services operations or specialist lending environments

* Exposure to both regulated and unregulated lending

* Appetite to learn, grow and contribute to process improvements
