About The Role
As the Lead Authority for National Resilience (), Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are recruiting for a Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA) Capability Advisor.
The postholder will co‑ordinate and support the assurance process; support exercises deploying ; and provide advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders to maximise the benefits of the MTA capability.
Build strong relationships with government officials and work effectively with MTA Policy leads to help shape the future of MTA assurance and response, and will play a key role in the MTA Capability review.
Candidates will currently need to be a minimum rank of substantive and competent Station Manager. Applicants will have experience of managing MTA capabilities; and have experience of working with s with a particular focus on JESIP and the MTA capability.
In addition, applicants should have strong skills in producing and presenting information, including reports, to a wide range of stakeholders and are able to influence at a high organisational level.
Salary: GMB (plus flexible duty allowance)
Hours: 42 hours per week
Location: An agreed base of work. Requirement for national travel
Contract: Full time, fixed term secondment until 31st March 2026

Interview Date: Week commencing the 19th January 2026
