Community Specialist Paediatric Dietician 5/6Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care and has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients’ homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Sunflower House building newly relocated, and opened on the hospital site.
We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We’re also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.

Overview -
We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with paediatric experience or a strong interest in paediatrics to join our Community Paediatric Dietetic team. This Band 6 role may be offered as a Band 5–6 development post depending on your experience. As part of the Community and Mental Health Division at Alder Hey, you will work within a supportive and friendly team of experienced B7 and B6 dietitians, alongside dietetic assistants.
This role offers the chance to apply and expand your paediatric dietetic knowledge across a wide range of clinical conditions including tube fed children within a specialist community setting. Your work will include delivering care through clinics, group education sessions, and occasional home or school visits, supporting children and families with diverse nutritional needs. duties of the job
- To provide specialist dietetic services to community patients and their families across Liverpool & Sefton. This includes nutritional assessment, development and implementation of care plans and on‑going review of paediatric patients.
- To provide dietetic management for highly complex paediatric patients with clinical supervision from the specialist dietitians.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of evidence based protocols, standards of care and patient education information within identified areas of paediatric sub specialities.
