Job DescriptionThis is a full‑time, permanent position (35 hour week, Monday‑Friday) supporting the site's EHS programme. The role ensures compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, and drives continuous improvement. Responsibilities include managing contractor safety, coordinating EHS training, leading communications, managing SharePoint, and coordinating site‑wide EHS initiatives. Visa sponsorship is not offered.
Job Responsibilities- Contractor Management
- Oversee EHS compliance for contractors, including onboarding, training, and audits.
- Ensure adherence to site safety standards and legal requirements.
- Training Requirements
- Coordinate EHS training needs across the site, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Maintain training records and monitor completion rates.
- EHS Communications
- Develop and deliver clear, engaging EHS communications.
- Promote awareness campaigns and safety initiatives through multiple channels.
- SharePoint Management
- Maintain and update the EHS SharePoint site as a central hub for policies, procedures, and resources.
- Ensure accessibility and accuracy of EHS documentation.
- Coordination of EHS Activities & Initiatives
- Organise EHS events, training sessions, and awareness programmes.
- Support site audits, GEMBAs, and compliance reviews.
- Degree in a relevant field with experience in EHS in a scientific or academic environment.
- Formal qualification such as IOSH certification (minimum).
- Relevant experience in an EHS role.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively with teams and individuals.
- Ability to work accurately to deadlines in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and share knowledge.
- High computer literacy, with in‑depth knowledge of MS Office and other relevant software.
