This is a self‑employed hybrid role based in the north west and surrounding areas for a Regulation 44 Visitor. The Regulation 44 Visitor will be responsible for undertaking monthly quality assurance visits to children’s residential homes. Key responsibilities include ensuring children’s homes comply with Ofsted standards, writing detailed reports based on observations and findings, and providing actionable recommendations for service improvement.
You will collaborate closely with residential care staff and management to support the delivery of quality care and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, including Regulation 44 requirements, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
- Skill in report writing, documentation, and clear communication of findings and recommendations.
- Experience in direct support, coaching, and supervision of staff, as well as behaviour management training techniques.
- Ability to perform on‑site visits with attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven organisational and time‑management abilities to manage schedules and deliver timely reports.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ 4 or 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent certification in social care are desirable.
- Experience in children’s residential care settings is highly beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff and stakeholders.
- A full, valid driver’s licence is required due to the nature of on‑site visits.
