Surface Transforms is a UK manufacturer of high‑performance carbon‑ceramic braking systems.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily production activities to achieve ≥98% OTIF.
- Own the 12‑week production plan, ensuring capacity, labour, materials, tooling, and maintenance readiness.
- Drive adherence to schedules, freeze horizons, and SOPs.
- Lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational meetings, escalating risks early.
- Work cross‑functionally with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Planning to remove constraints.
- Deliver strong operational KPIs: OEE, first‑pass yield, scrap/rework reduction, safety compliance.
- Lead structured problem‑solving (8D/A3) and continuous improvement projects (SMED, 5S, visual management).
- Manage, coach, and develop 3 shift supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management Systems.
- Proven experience as Manufacturing Manager or equivalent leadership in high‑volume/mix production.
- 7+ years manufacturing experience with demonstrable OTIF, OEE, and FPY improvements.
- Deep knowledge of Lean tools (5S, SMED, A3, problem‑solving, visual management).
- Experience managing multi‑shift operations and leading cross‑rotation teams.
- Hands‑on scheduling, capacity planning, ERP/MRP system expertise.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and HSE standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Competitive salary: £60,000 (incl. shift allowance).
