Prison Nurse - Agency Contract

Liverpool
Rate: £30-£35 per hour (depending on shift type)

Contract:

6 months (with potential to extend)

Hours:

Full-time or part-time considered (Early, Late, Long Day, and Night shifts available)

We’re currently recruiting experienced Registered Nurses (RGN/RMN) for agency work within a secure prison environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide essential care to individuals in custody, contributing to both their health and wider rehabilitation.

The role will involve:

* Delivering day-to-day nursing care to a diverse inmate population

* Supporting individuals with physical health needs, substance misuse issues, and mental health conditions

* Administering medication and treatments in line with clinical protocols

* Working closely with prison officers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care

* Responding to medical emergencies within the prison setting

Requirements:

* Valid NMC registration (RGN, RMN or dual-qualified)

* Previous experience in a secure, forensic, or custodial environment (preferred but not essential)

* Current prison clearance (CTC or enhanced DBS with prison vetting) is desirable

* Strong clinical judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure

* Willingness to work flexibly across a variety of shifts
