Research Technician – Materials Chemistry
A Research Technician position is available in the research group of Professor Andy Cooper. You will support all our laboratory activities including chemistry and robotics experiments and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and collaborators.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Health & Safety procedures.
- Laboratory management and facilities & equipment maintenance.
- Work closely with postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and collaborators.
Qualifications:
- BTEC Higher Level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Some experience in standard laboratory procedures/analytical techniques and Health & Safety.
- Skills in electronic and/or hardware engineering and workshop skills advantageous.
- Flexible attitude to work and working hours.
The role would be ideal for a recent college graduate or someone who would like to transition into academic research and gain experience in how to run large multidisciplinary chemistry facilities.
The post is available for a 1‑year initially.
