Job Summary
We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Dermatology Consultant to join our team in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of dermatological conditions, providing expert diagnosis and treatment, and contributing to multidisciplinary care planning.
Main Duties- Clinical Management:
Provide expert care across a broad range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer and inflammatory skin disease. - Procedural Work:
Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and minor surgeries in line with service needs. - Teledermoscopy:
Manage a dedicated teledermoscopy caseload, ensuring timely and accurate remote assessment of skin lesions. - Clinical Leadership:
Offer guidance and support to junior staff, contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions, and help shape service development. - Documentation & Governance:
Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to governance, safety, and quality standards. - Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues across specialties to ensure integrated and patient‑centred care.

- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
- On Specialist Register or due to obtain relevant CCT within 6 months of interview
- Or Portfolio Pathway (CESR) or equivalent European Qualifications for Specialist Registration
- MRCP
- Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills
- Desirable – Qualifications
- Relevant Higher Degree e.g. MD;
PhD; MSc

- Essential – Clinical Experience
- Broad based experience in Dermatology
- Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
- Knowledge and participation in CPD
- Competence in Dermatology

- Wider experience, research and training in providing sub specialty service
- Evidence of above average performance
- Additional clinical qualification(s)

- Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
