We’re searching for a Temporary Assistant Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Carmarthenshire.
Role DetailsRole: Temporary Assistant Service Manager
Location: Carmarthenshire
Hours: 35 per week; shift pattern includes weekends and sleep‑ins.
Salary: £25,935 per annum, with sleep‑in shifts at £60 per night and travel expenses at 45p per mile.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract – Temporary until July 2026.
What you’ll be doingIn this role you will work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. You will be visible daily in the operation of the service, support duties in line with the requirements of the people we support, and have responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the service in the Service Manager’s absence.
This includes providing leadership, monitoring performance, carrying out one‑to‑one sessions and appraisals, holding team meetings, and achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support through innovative, person‑centred, flexible support.
- Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
- Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards).
- A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential.
- Working knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
- Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required.
- A full driving licence – essential and happy to travel for meetings and training.
- Access to your own car and willingness to use it for transporting people we support to and from activities, with business insurance for a vehicle paid at 45p per mile.
