Registered Nurse - Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward

The closing date is 04 January 2026

Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a fast‑paced, rewarding role where no two days are the same?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgical Wards at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital -- and we'd love to welcome you to our team.

Our wards care for both trauma and elective orthopaedic patients, including those transferred from major trauma centres in South Wales. From 1st September, we have launched a brand‑new Trauma Unit, which will include a Trauma Assessment Unit (TAU) -- designed to enhance patient experience and reduce time spent in the Emergency Department. You'll have the chance to be part of this innovative service from the very beginning.

We're seeking nurses who:

  • Have a genuine interest in trauma and orthopaedic care
  • Bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are organised, adaptable, and confident working both independently and as part of a team

If you're ready to take on a new challenge and make a real difference in patients' lives, we'd love to hear from you. Find out more about what some of our team say about working for us here:

Main duties of the job

Joining us, you will:

  • Work across a variety of settings: acute trauma, trauma rehab, elective orthopaedics, and the new TAU.
  • Care for patients with a wide range of conditions -- from head injuries and fractures to complex trauma cases.
  • Be part of an experienced, multidisciplinary team that includes surgeons, physios, OTs, and more.
  • Thrive in a supportive environment where teamwork, learning, and professional growth are at the heart of what we do.

In this team we are committed to your growth. You'll have access to a wide range of in‑house training and development opportunities, and we have strong links with local Universities to support your ongoing CPD and revalidation.
