Residential Support Worker
Location: Bilston, Midlothian

Permanent – full‑time, part‑time, and casual hours available.
Salary: £25,500 per annum (pro rata)

The Role
Our Residential Support Worker role is a great fit for anyone with experience in care who is ready to grow and take on something new. You'll be supporting young people in a way that helps them feel safe, confident, and able to build their independence. We're looking for someone who brings genuine care, strong values, and a positive attitude to the team.
Castlelaw Cottage is a small, lively home for two young people with a learning disability, ASD, and challenging behaviours. The house has recently been renovated to give them a bright, comfortable space where they can enjoy life both indoors and out. They are non‑verbal, but communicate in their own ways and truly flourish when supported by people who take the time to understand them.
Key Responsibilities- Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
- Coordinate responsibilities within the service, with multi‑agency and produce family information, including analysis and written reports.
- Attend professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
- Help young people in all aspects of their daily lives.
- Have good communication skills and the ability to engage well with young people, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Has demonstrable experience working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.
- Applies a range of techniques to coordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
- Demonstrates a solution‑focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
- Demonstrates emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
- Possesses a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or a recognised equivalent, or is prepared to complete this within two years of commencement with full support.
