Manufacturing Production, Operations Engineer
Opportunity
We're looking for a Stores & Despatch Operative to join our team at Loanhead.
This is a practical, hands‑on role within a busy Stores and Despatch environment, working closely with team leaders and colleagues to ensure materials and finished goods are received, stored, handled, and despatched safely, accurately, and efficiently. You'll play a key role in supporting production and meeting customer delivery commitments while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This position is ideal for someone who is organised, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a strong team player.
The role operates on a Monday to Thursday dayshift pattern and requires eligibility for Ministry of Defence security clearance.

WhatYou’ll Do
- Receive deliveries from suppliers, checking delivery notes for accuracy and unloading goods
- Unload delivery vehicles using forklifts or cranes where required
- Book goods into the Company ERP system (IFS)
- Pick materials and build kits from pick lists across various stores locations
- Pick finished goods ready for despatch to customers
- Ensure finished components are protected and transported safely between Stores and Despatch
- Pack goods to required standards and complete all despatch documentation
- Build packing crates to specified sizes using woodworking machinery (full training provided)
- Operate band saws to cut metal for Production (white water coolant used)
- Work flexibly across different stores areas and carry out other associated duties as required
- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and site‑specific regulations at all times
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work independently using your own initiative with minimal supervision
- Strong team‑working skills and a positive, flexible approach
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Experience in a Stores, Despatch, or similar logistics environment
- Knowledge or experience using IFS or similar ERP systems
- Pick‑and‑carry crane experience
- Forklift (counterbalance) experience
- Dayshift
Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 07:00 - 16:45 – night shift and other shift work may be required - The successful candidate must hold or be able to meet the appropriate Security Clearance as required
