Who We Are: The Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority (EWSWA) is the governmental agency charged with the responsibility of providing an economical and environmentally conscious integrated solid waste management system for the County of Essex and the City of Windsor. The mission of the EWSWA is to provide programs to manage the solid, non-hazardous waste generated in the County of Essex and the City of Windsor in an environmentally sound manner through processes which include, but are not necessarily limited to reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and landfilling.
Dayin The Life:
- Direct traffic to the appropriate dumping area
- Conduct onsite and offsite litter patrols
- Maintain public disposal area in a tidy manner
- Perform maintenance duties including misc. painting, grass and weed cutting, and tree trimming
- Assist with other tasks and duties, as required
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Experience with operating a lawn tractor and weed whip is considered an asset
- Mechanical skills and experience with routine maintenance are considered assets
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license
- Must provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract (Uncertified)
- Must be returning to full-time studies in September 2026
