We’re seeking an Associate Director - Structural Engineer – Renewable Energy in our expanding renewable energy team. You will undertake a technical role on projects within our energy business, typically involving generation, storage, transmission and distribution of energy across the UK, Ireland, and other regions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Projects span from feasibility to detailed design and site construction supervision.
Responsibilities- Liaise with clients, manage project work on a day-to-day basis, and ensure delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary design of renewable energy infrastructure.
- Respond to technical queries raised by project teams.
- Act as Lead Verifier on projects including technical feasibility studies and design reports in the capacity of lead structural engineer.
- Direct junior staff and mentor graduate engineers.
Projects may include onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, hydroelectric power (run-of-river and pumped storage), grid connection works, hydrogen production and storage, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Qualifications- BEng (Hons) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered status or actively working towards chartership
- Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) certification is advantageous
Desirable experience includes:
- Medium and high voltage grid connection works, including National Grid experience
- Hydroelectric design (run-of-river and pumped storage)
- Onshore wind projects (preferably with turbines >180m tip height)
- Large-scale ground-mounted solar projects
