Archaeology Field Technician I
Join WSP in Canada for a seasonal 2026 field season as an Archaeology Field Technician I. This role is based in several offices including Burlington, Mississauga, Whitby, London, Ottawa, and Thunder Bay.

OpportunityThe position involves fieldwork from Stage 2 surveys to Stage 4 excavations in Ontario. The season starts in Spring 2026 once weather allows.
Responsibilities- Complete archaeological fieldwork under supervision, including Stage 2 surveys, Stage 3 site assessments, and Stage 4 mitigations.
- Work outdoors in varied weather and ground conditions.
- Support Field Supervisors and assist other field technicians.
- Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and safety.
- Ability to work daily at field sites and enjoy team-based fieldwork.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Independence and teamwork flexibility.
- Travel readiness for out‑of‑town projects.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of archaeological artifacts is an asset.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field is an asset.
- One field season of archaeological experience in Ontario is an asset.
