Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Greater London

PW Construction are working with a well-established, privately owned main contractor delivering high-quality commercial cut & carve & refurbishment projects across Central London (Zone
1) to recruit an experienced Construction Project Manager.

This is an opportunity to join a business that is margin-led rather than volume-driven, known for its non-adversarial approach, repeat clients, and long-term staff retention. The company focuses on doing fewer projects well, rather than chasing turnover, and that philosophy runs through everything from pre-construction to delivery.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of a major £30m Central London commercial scheme, featuring a retained facade, RC and Steel Portal Frame, followed by a Cat A build out. Due to start on site in April 2026, the successful candidate will be responsible taking the scheme from late pre-construction through to completion and handover. The program duration is circa 18 months.

Projects are predominantly cut & carve office refurbishments, valued at between £1m and £150m, often involving complex structural alterations and high-quality Cat A / Cat A+ fit-outs, often involving constrained sites, challenging logistics and close coordination with design teams and stakeholders.

You’ll usually be focused on one main project at a time, with the support of experienced commercial, technical and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading the project from pre-construction through delivery

* Reviewing design for buildability, cost-value- engineering, sequencing and logistics

* Managing the programme, resources and subcontractors on site

* Overall responsibility for site Health & Safety

* Acting as the main point of contact for the client, consultants and internal teams

* Driving quality, health & safety and compliance standards

* Working closely with the commercial team on cost control, variations and risk

* Providing clear progress reporting to senior management and client representatives

About You

You’ll be an experienced Project Manager (or a strong Senior Site Manager / No.2 ready to step up) with a background in:

* Central London commercial projects

* Cut & carve, refurbishment or structural alteration schemes

* Managing complex interfaces, tight logistics and high-quality finishes

* Delivering projects safely, on time and commercially controlled

You’ll be confident dealing with clients and consultants, calm under pressure, and aligned with a collaborative, straight-talking culture rather than claims-driven delivery.

What’s on Offer

* Opportunity to work on technically interesting, high-profile London schemes

* A business with long-term stability and genuine career progression

* Competitive salary and package aligned to seniority and experience £90,000 + Travel + Pension + Bonus

* Travel allowance and annual bonus structure

* A grown-up environment that values delivery, relationships and loyalty
