Position: Estimator (Permanent)
The Client:
A well-established and respected main contractor based in South London, delivering a broad range of projects across residential, education, commercial and public sectors. With a strong reputation for quality, repeat business and well-managed projects, the business continues to grow its pre-construction team to support an increasing workload.

The Role:

As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a range of construction projects, working closely with senior management, the supply chain and delivery teams. This is a key role within the business, offering involvement across the full tender lifecycle — from initial enquiry and cost planning through to submission and post-tender review.

The position would suit an Estimator with experience in a main contracting environment, looking to join a stable, well-run contractor with a strong pipeline of work.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for construction projects.

* Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation to produce accurate pricing.

* Source and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.

* Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering options.

* Work closely with pre-construction and delivery teams to ensure bids are buildable and commercially viable.

* Attend tender meetings, site visits and post-tender reviews where required.

* Maintain accurate records of pricing, tender returns and supply chain performance.

Qualifications &

Experience:

* Previous experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment is essential.

* Strong understanding of construction processes, procurement and pricing.

* Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
