Freelance Quantity Surveyor
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with experience running multiple schemes, tightening up commercial processes, and delivering results where quality really matters?

A well-established civil engineering contractor is now looking to strengthen their team with a capable, detail-driven Freelance Quantity Surveyor based in East London:

· Rate: £300 per day Outside IR35

You'll be joining a Private Works division that has been operating successfully for over two years and is continuing to grow. With multiple schemes live at any one time, the business now needs a commercially robust QS to take ownership of CVRs, applications, and change control, ensuring projects are run efficiently and professionally.
 
You'll be managing 1-3 schemes at a time, typically valued at £7-8m, with works largely subcontracted.

This role offers strong autonomy, stability, and the chance to make an immediate impact within a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Preparation and management of CVRs

· Pricing Bills of Quantities and private works

· Commercial management of subcontracted packages

· Managing labour, plant, and materials

· Producing and managing change control

· Ensuring monthly applications are accurate and submitted on time

· Supporting commercial best practice across multiple live schemes

What We're Looking For:

· Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering or highways-style projects

· Experience managing schemes in the £7-8m range

· Strong understanding of commercial reporting and applications

· Confident working with subcontractors and commercial supply chains

· High attention to detail and ability to work independently

· Highways or London road schemes experience beneficial but not essential
