BBC Media Operations is at the heart of delivering incredible content across all our platforms for all audiences. Comprising around nine hundred people it manages the craft and production operations for the BBCs news radio and some sport services across London Salford Birmingham with teams across the main UK sites. Our team captures edits and produces output 24 / 7 for TV radio and digital platforms.

We are experts in our field with exceptional technical operational and production creativity at our core. Working closely with our editorial colleagues we co-create content that reaches millions of people across the UK and the world daily. The team also manages production services editing and post-production stores some OB bases in England and the BBCs fleet of pool and broadcast vehicles.

The Music area is focussed on all the music output being delivered by Media Operations-in studios and in other locations. There are many stakeholders in commissioning and production areas as well as independent production companies. You will be their main point of contact and work with other areas in Media Operations to ensure the most effective and efficient programme delivery and operational process.

You will lead the specialist operational team working in London as well as being the key point of contact for this area within Media Operations.

We are looking for an Operations Executive (Sound) who can lead with flair and motivate our teams to achieve their best. You should bring innovative ideas to the table and foster a creative working environment. While great leadership is important being a good team player is also essential to ensure we work collaboratively across the business aligning our thinking with organisational and departmental strategy.

• Serve as a highly visible and trusted leader focusing on effective management and enhancing staff engagement.
• Oversee the departments operational staff managing performance training and development.
• Collaborate with production partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality content.
• Align with divisional and departmental objectives to formulate viable and strategic business plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with recognized trade unions to ensure a cooperative and constructive industrial relations climate.
• Effectively manage and control the team budget.
• Stay abreast of industry developments and new technology. Share knowledge and experiences with colleagues and proactively seek out recommend and adopt more effective techniques ways of working and best practices to drive efficiencies and deliver value for money.

• Significant Content or Operational Team leadership experience
