The role involves senior medical supervision of both inpatient and day‑case BMT/CAR‑T cell therapy work and, when not on inpatient service, conducting high‑quality clinical and scientific research and teaching.

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is a postgraduate teaching hospital linked with the Institute of Child Health (ICH). The Trust has 318 beds and provides a comprehensive range of paediatric specialties for tertiary level care, serving over 20,000 inpatients and 84,000 outpatients annually.

All applicants must have at least two years’ experience in paediatric BMT at registrar level.

It includes the largest practice for primary immunodeficiency in the world, including gene therapy and thymus transplants. There is approximately a 50/50 split between malignant and non‑malignant diseases (immunodeficiency, metabolic and autoimmune diseases including autoinflammatory gut diseases and rheumatological diseases).

Donor sources include cord and haploidentical donors. The unit is fully JACIE accredited and reports outcomes to the BSBMT and participates in national audits.
