Consultant Paediatric Neurologist – with Neuromuscular Interest
The shift pattern for this post is full with on‑call.
The Women & Children’s Directorate (an Acute Operating Division of Greater Glasgow & Clyde NHS Board) is a world leader in the care of child and maternal health services. Located on the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus in the south side of the city, the Royal Hospital for Children hosts many national and regional specialist tertiary and qua ternary services. The Directorate also supports an extensive array of community child health services.
This is a permanent post. The successful applicant will join seven consultant colleagues and two senior lecturers as an integral member of the Neurosciences team. The postholder will be encouraged to develop a special interest in a subspecialty of neuromuscular paediatrics, supported by two senior colleagues for five of the sessions; the remaining five sessions will be informed by the successful candidate’s training, interest, and the needs of the service, most likely involving general neurology and epilepsy.
The successful candidate will be supported to achieve their future training needs. Candidates interested in research and innovation will be encouraged and supported in accessing opportunities in the Scottish NHS, including Research & Innovation Fellowships which provide designated sessions for these activities.
