Base pay rangeSelecta is the largest provider of unattended self‑serve coffee and convenience food in Europe, leading the way in vending solutions and specialist coffee services. We are hiring a Static Service Engineer to join our Technical department and provide high quality service to all customers, actively contributing to overall improvements by servicing and maintaining equipment to a high standard.
As a Service Engineer your goal is to limit the volume of equipment failure through correct service and maintenance. This is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at a static site located just a 5‑minute walk from Liverpool Street Station. A company vehicle is not provided; all work will be carried out on‑site. Stock and supplies will be available on‑site for servicing the machines.
Selecta operates across 16 countries within Europe, serving 12 million people every day. In the UK we deliver a national service to around 3,500 businesses, providing tasty beverages and snacks at workplaces, schools, universities, hospitals and everywhere in between. Our engineers are critical to the operation of our business, ensuring that our machines are well maintained and in working order, so that we can continuously delight our customers.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair faults on a complete range of vending equipment.
- Ensure that work is completed on the first visit; if a return visit is necessary, it is carried out at the soonest opportunity.
- Review multiple fault equipment and prioritize machines with persistent breakdowns.
- Maintain access to technical manuals/documentation relevant to the equipment you are servicing.
- Attend training courses to maintain the highest standard of workmanship.
- Maintain good customer relations by adopting a pleasant manner at all times and adhering to customer procedure and health & safety policies.
- Address customer dissatisfaction promptly (repair machine or seek assistance from senior engineer/service manager) to prevent escalation.
- Ability to maintain a close working relationship with colleagues and clients to provide the best possible service.
- Self‑motivated to work on your own initiative.
- Customer‑focused with a smart, professional appearance.
- Strong electrical knowledge/experience, demonstrated through practical work or an electrical qualification.
- Technical background with strong fault‑finding and diagnosis skills.
- Awareness of safe work practices on electrical equipment.
