Principal Traffic Engineer

Location: North London
Our client, engaged in the Public Sector, is currently seeking a Principal Traffic Engineer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role focuses on developing and implementing liveable neighbourhood schemes, ensuring efficient traffic management and enhancing urban transport systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading the design and delivery of liveable neighbourhood schemes
Assessing traffic patterns and implementing solutions to improve traffic flow and safety
Collaborating with stakeholders, including local authorities and community groups
Conducting traffic impact assessments and developing mitigation strategies
Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers
Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with relevant traffic engineering standards and regulations
Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively

Job Requirements:

Significant experience in traffic engineering within the highways sector
Proficiency in traffic management principles and relevant software
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience with liveable neighbourhood schemes is highly desirable
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
