Senior Electrical Tester; LVAP

Position: Senior Electrical Tester (LVAP) (Permanent)
Senior LV / Authorised Person (AP) Tester – £60,000–£68,000 + package

London & South East | Large projects (critical power & commercial) | Site-based | Immediate start

Lead LV testing and energisations on major sites. You’ll be the senior, hands-on tester on the ground—running small test teams, controlling permits and isolations, and securing clean, witnessable handovers to programme.

What you’ll deliver

* Manage and mentor up to four LV test operatives; plan work fronts and access to meet programme.

* Execute and verify LV testing/commissioning to ESSW, BS 7671 & GN3; complete DB/earth bar checks, sub-mains/finals/earthing/modular wiring schedules.

* Keep electronic test folders and dashboards current (results uploaded within 24 hours); maintain gateway trackers and lockable schematics.

* Inspect switch gear and installation methods; check protective-device settings against selectivity studies and record torque checks.

* Control requests for power and isolations; manage LOTO, key control and permit issue (under AP oversight).

* Raise/close snags and non-conformances; support client witnessing and evidence for NICEIC certification.

* Carry out emergency-lighting testing and verification to BS 5266.

What you know cold

* LV distribution, switch gear, UPS, busbar, modular wiring, controls/monitoring and ATS interfaces.

* UK electrical safety and compliance: BSincl. inspection & testing), GN3, BS 5266, CDM, permits and LOTO.

* Turning parallel test activities into a controlled, auditable process that protects programme and quality.

What you’ll need

* 3+ years’ site-based LV testing/commissioning experience; senior tester or AP(LV) responsibility on large MEP/critical projects.

* C&G (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing and BS 7671 training;or equivalent) desirable.

* Strong documentation discipline (ITPs, test sheets, trackers, snag/close-out) and clear, confident comms with project teams.

* Current ECS/CSCS and full UK driving licence; flexible for occasional out-of-hours works.
