Our client, an esteemed construction firm with operations in Ireland, the UK, and Northern Europe, is keen to appoint a seasoned Senior CSA Design Engineer to work on a major data centre project in London Docklands. This role is part of their commitment to delivering mission-critical projects in sectors such as Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, High Value Manufacturing, and Critical Logistics.
Job Requirements
Experience in CSA design and delivery for large-scale, complex building projects, ideally within data centre or mission-critical sectors.
Understanding of data centres or complex building projects is highly desirable.
Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or a related field.
Chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE, IStruct
E, RIAI) is highly desirable.
Knowledge of UK building codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
Proficiency in design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools).
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design packages with a focus on buildability and optimal solutions.
Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management, and reporting.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the design development of all CSA packages, ensuring technical compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Evaluate design solutions for buildability, innovation, cost-effectiveness, and practicality.
Manage the lifecycle of design packages from initial review through to execution on site.
Engage proactively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to meet project objectives.
Collaborate with MEP and CSA teams to deliver integrated solutions and resolve design challenges.
Monitor design progress, identify risks early, and implement mitigation strategies.
Provide technical input during all project phases, including value engineering and constructability reviews.
Ensure the production of high-quality technical documentation, drawings, and reports.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site inspections with a focus on construction optimisation.
Uphold compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
