PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Permanent Fire Estimator in London. This will be working for a Tier 1 business with a current £200mil turnover and looking to progress up to £500mil turnover in 5-7 years. They will need someone with passive fire background and will need to be 5 days in the office for the first 1-2 months.

They're seeking an Estimator to join our growing Passive Fire Protection team. This is a key role for someone who brings technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a collaborative mindset to every project.

What You'll Be Doing

As Estimator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates for passive fire protection systems. You'll play a critical role in both pre-construction planning and ongoing commercial strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing tender documentation and preparing bid/no-bid assessments

Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BoQs), and tender submissions

Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams to obtain quotations and support cost planning

Ensuring all estimates comply with current fire safety regulations and technical standards

Identifying and managing risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options

Supporting client engagement and business development initiatives

Mentoring junior estimators and contributing to the professional development of the team

What We're Looking For

You're a self-motivated, analytical thinker with a strong foundation in estimating and commercial planning - ideally in passive fire protection or a related field.

Key skills and experience:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in passive fire protection estimating or a closely related field

Solid understanding of tendering, cost planning, and risk assessment

Competence with NEC and/or JCT contracts

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bids under pressure

Proven ability to manage and develop supplier relationships
