About the Company
A specialist engineering organisation operating in the scientific and advanced technology sector is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join its research and development function. The company designs and manufactures highly specialised systems used in demanding laboratory and industrial environments.
The Role
The successful candidate will join a dedicated R&D team and will be well suited to an Electronics Engineer who enjoys hands-on development work and contributing to the full lifecycle of electronic systems, from concept through to testing and production support.
You will be involved in the design, build, and validation of electronic support devices, as well as prototype development and system testing activities across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop electronic support devices of either analogue or digital nature.
* Undertake PCB design, population, and testing as a core activity to support prototype development.
* Perform delicate wiring and soldering of probes, sensors, and other sensitive components.
* Test and analyse both self-developed electronics and other devices used within the company.
* Support factory testing of outgoing systems to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
* Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of development and test processes.
Requirements
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
* Practical experience with analogue and/or digital electronics design.
* Proven experience in PCB design, assembly, and fault-finding.
* High standard of manual dexterity for fine wiring and soldering tasks.
* A methodical approach to testing, analysis, and problem-solving.
* Ability to work effectively within a small, technically focused R&D team.
Desirable Experience
* Exposure to scientific, instrumentation, or low-noise electronic systems.
* Experience supporting production or factory acceptance testing.
